Alexander Medawar Garland is an English novelist, screenwriter, film producer and director He is well known for his novels The Beach, The Tesseract and The Coma. He has won Best Screenplay for the film 28 Days Later, Writer’s Guild of Great Britain for the video game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West as a co-writer and Jury Prize for writing and directing Ex-Machina at the Gerardmer Film Festival. Some of his other films include 28 weeks Later, Never Let Me Go and Sunshine.
