Alexandra Shipp's short but impressive list of acting credits feature movies like Straight Outta Compton (2015) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), the latter of which had her essaying the younger version of superhero Storm (originally played by Halle Berry). The young actress made her feature film debut with a minor role in the live-action musical family comedy Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009), which was followed by a successful stint on television.

Her work in shows like House of Anubis (2011-2013) and Days of Our Lives earned Shipp much praise, and she eventually got her big break when she portrayed Kimberly Woodruff in the 2015 biographical film Straight Outta Compton.
