A TV and film actress from the UK, Alice Patten is best known for her role as Sue McKinley in the critically acclaimed Bollywood film Rang De Basanti (2006). Her role as a British documentary filmmaker who comes to India to make a documentary on the Indian freedom fighters was well received by the audience and widely appreciated by the critics. Patten who comes from an influential family in Britain, she is the daughter of Chris Patten and Baron Patten, a prominent British conservative politician and the former Governor of Hong Kong.
An alumna of the Queens` College, Cambridge, after completing her studies got her first major role British play by Nicholas Wright where she played the role of Eugenie. She later collaborated with British writer David Renwick for the mystery crime drama series Jonathan Creek. In 2005, the actress played the role of Ophelia in the English Touring Theatre`s play, Hamlet. Her other notable acting credits include the BBC fantasy drama Merlin and New Tricks.
