Born in Kerala, India, Amal Neerad is an Indian movie director, cinematographer, and producer, whose work in college, as a cinematographer got him both National Award and Ajaykar Award for the diploma film Meena Jha. He made his directorial debut with the 2007 film Big B, and then went on to direct movies such as Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), Tournament (2010), Bachelor Party (2012), 5 Sundarikal (2013), and Iyobinte Pustakam (2014). His 2017 projects includes Comrade in America and Mayaanadhi. His other releases include Varathan and Trance.
