A well known public figure on the Hindi pulp fiction scene in India, Amit Khan is a novelist and screenwriter. His first story published at the age of twelve was based on the life of George Washington, the First President of United States. His first novel was published in 1987, when he had just turned 15. Amit`s stories have been published in leading newspapers and magazines. About 90 novels have been published, most of which centre around the fictional RAW agent, "Commander Karan Saxena". Some of them are short stories and love story collections. Amit also has 40 Diamond comic stories published, of which the `Rajan-Iqbal`, `Chacha-bhateeja` and `Tauji` series are a hit with readers. He is a common face at most Literature festivals. Amit has been conferred with the `Hindi Seva Samman` by the Vishwa Hindi Academy. His YouTube channel "Amit Khan Ki Chaupal" is quite famous with enthusiastic poets and writers.

As a writer for television, Amit has worked on five daily soaps. He has also worked on movies like Karz: The Burden of Truth (2002), Krantiveer-The Revolution (2010) and the Marathi movie, Laal Ishq, in various capacities. In 2017 Amit`s screenplay was turned into a movie named Nirdosh, by director Pradeep Rangwani and Subroto Paul. The murder-mystery has a star cast that includes Arbaaz Khan, Mukul Dev, Manjari Phadnis, Mahek Chahal and Ashmit Patel in important roles.
