About
Amitosh Nagpal was born into a Punjabi family. Following graduation, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, where he earned a degree in acting. He made his film debut in Dabangg as Sumant Kumar. The film went on to become the year's biggest hit, and his performance received special recognition. He wrote the lyrics for Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, for which he was nominated for a national award. Amitosh has adapted Mumbai's most popular play, Piya Behrupiya. In 2017, he was recommended by Irrfan Khan to write the dialogues for the film Hindi Medium, which became a major hit of the year, and the dialogues received special mention from all critics. He wrote and directed the musical 'Mahanagar Ke Jugnu' in 2022. The play is a loving tribute to the optimism and tenacity of the young people who chip away at the walls of show business-sometimes they make a crack, sometimes they retreat, bloodied but unbeaten. He works in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer, and theatre director.
