An actress of Romanian descent, Anamaria Marinca made her debut on the screen with the British-Canadian TV film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Apart from her stellar performance in her maiden film, the actress is also remembered for role in the Romanian art film 4 months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, which won her several laurels including the European Film Award for Best Actress, London Film Critics Circle Award for Actress of the Year, National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress. For her brilliant role in the film, in 2008, Marinca was presented the Shooting Stars Award at the International Film Festival by the European Film Promotion. A few of her other notable films include Storm (2009), Fury (2014), and Ghost in the Shell (2017).
