Anand Bhate is one of the most promising artistes in the new generation of the Kirana tradition. He has a privilege of being the disciple of the great classical vocalist, Bharat-Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.

At the age of 10 years Anand was honoured with the title Anand Gandharv in 1981.

He won the MIFTA award for Best Playback Singer (for the movie Balgandharva) in 2011. Anand is an artiste who has mastery over all forms including Hindustani Classical, Folk Music like Abhangs and also Natya-Sangeet. He is well known for his performances in musicals too.
