Originally from Mysore, Ananya Kashyap is an actor who works predominantly in Kannada films. Through the National School of Drama, Delhi, Kashyap practiced and performed various dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Contemporary and Latin American styles. She is a BCOM graduate, but her interest in theatre and film was always much stronger.

She has made an appearance in several movies, including Veerabahu (2011), Sidlingu (2012) and Neerdose (2016). She has also played a role in Neeru Thandavaru (2018), which was screened at an international film festival. Neeru Thandavaru was her first film as a protagonist. Kashyap`s 2019 releases include Mundina Nildana, directed by Vinay Bharadwaj. This film marks her entry into mainstream Sandalwood.
