Having a penchant for acting since her childhood, English actress Andrea Riseborough began appearing in stage plays at a very young age. Born in England, to George Riseborough and Isabel Johnson, Riseborough finished her schooling from the Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School. Later, after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2005, she went on to appear in films with a first minor role in the movie Venus (2006). Also being part of the television industry, Riseborough delivered acclaimed performances in 2008. First of her award nominating performance came with the television drama Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley wherein she essayed the role of Margaret Thatcher. Her second, award-winning performance, came with the four-part television series The Devil`s Whore: she won the RTS Television Award for Best Actor (Female) for her role, while for her performance in Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley, she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress.
Riseborough has since then appeared in several successful films such as Brighton Rock, Shadow Dancer, and Birdman. Her 2017 releases include the movies Mindhorn, Battle of the Sexes, and The Death of Stalin. His 2020 release includes The Grudge, directed by Nicolas Pesce
