Filmmaker Anil Srikantam started out in Telugu cinema as a second unit director, working as an associate in the well-received romantic comedy Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014) early on in his career. In 2018, Anil made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Idam Jagath, which starred Sumanth and Anju Kurian in the lead roles.
