Anirban Bhattacharya is one of the most sought-after names in the theatre circle of Kolkata. He has had the privilege of working with biggies like Bratya Basu, Debesh Chattopadhyay, and Suman Mukhopadhyay. Some of his popular theatre works are Debi Sarpamasta, Anthony Soudamini, Nagamandala, Jara Agun Lagay, Bisorjan, and Athoi. He has won Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) as Best Actor in a Leading Role for Awdyo Shash Rajani. He has also directed two plays Choumatha, and Guru.

He started his career in films by acting in some of the Zee Bangla Cinema Originals` like Kader Kuler Bou, and Jodi Balo Hyan. His silver screen break came with a supporting role in Aparna Sen`s Arshinagar (2015). The next year with his captivating performance in Eagoler Chokh, he won everyone`s heart and a Filmfare Awards East for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He has also played the iconic fictional character Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandhopadhay in the Hoichoi Originals web series. His other releases include Alinagarer Golokdhadha (2018), Uma (2018), Ek Je Chhilo Raja (2018), Shah Jahan Regency (2019), Gumnaami (2019), and Bibaho Obhijaan (2019). His 2020 releases include Dwitiyo Purush and Dracula Sir.
