From a musical prodigy to one among the most sought-after composers in South Indian cinema, Anirudh Ravichander has come a long way since his sensational debut in the Kollywood romantic-psychological thriller 3 (2012). The son of actor Ravi Raghavendra and the nephew of actor Rajinikanth, Anirudh started his musical journey at a very young age, learning both classical piano and Carnatic music besides performing at concerts as a part of the boyband Zinx. The viral song Why This Kolaveri Di from 3 (2012) made him an overnight sensation at the age of 21 and Anirudh has since scored the music and sung for several movies across all major South Indian film industries.
Along the way, the talented musician has also bagged numerous accolades, including multiple SIIMA Awards and Filmfare Awards (South). Notable film credits as a composer include Velaiyilla Pattathari (2014), Kaththi (2014), Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015), the Ajith starrer Vivegam (2017) and the Suriya starrer Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018). Other significant film credits as a playback singer include Vada Curry (2014), I (2015), Premam (2015), Oopiri (2016), Agnyaathavaasi (2018), Gang (2018), Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018), Kolamaavu Kokila (2018), Jersey (2019), Gang Leader (2019) and Puppy (2019).
