Born in the cultural hub of Roorkee, Ankur dabbled in theatre and music at an early age. Right after college he took a sharp turn to the road of storytelling, focusing on songwriting in particular. It was during his college years in Bhopal that Ankur began writing the relaxed, acoustic-based songs that would later find their place in his debut album 'Jannat'. When he is not busy screenwriting for Bollywood, Ankur is jamming with his dysfunctional yet joined at the hip band - Ghalat family. Ankur and The Ghalat family comprises of Sidd Coutto, Johan Pais, Gaurav Gupta, Vivaan Kapoor and Ankur creating what they best describe as Urdu and Hindi easy acoustic ballads folk rock/rock n roll. They recently released a video through NH7.in for their popular track Bekhabar.
The band was formed in 2009 and has played many festivals including Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Storm Festival, Kala Ghoda Festival and many more. The band is currently working on it's album called Side A/Side B with close to 14 songs. Side A consists collaborations and Side B is just the band.
