A double major in Music and Biology, Ann Marie Calhoun is an American classically trained violinist, whose most prominent acts include Steve Vai, Dave Matthews Band, Ringo Starr and Jethro Tull. She has performed with several bands such as the North African/American band - Kantara, the progressive rock band Jethro Tull, and Steve Vai`s band String Theories. She also got nominated at Grammy Awards in the category of Best Instrumental Rock Group Performance for her performance with Vai. She collaborated with Hans Zimmer as a contributing writer for the film score of Sherlock Holmes (2009), which was nominated for the 2010 Academy Award for Best Score. She even performed with A.R. Rahman on MTV Unplugged. She has recorded with several artists like Pearl Jam, Hans Zimmer, Stevie Nicks, Vusi Mahlasela, Pharrell Williams, Steve Vai, Dave Matthews Band and Dave Stewart. Her 2017 venture includes One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film (2017), a movie about A.R. Rahman`s concert tour across 14 cities in North America.
