She had recurring appearances in the TV sitcom Friends, and her other notable work includes Just Friends (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), Smiley Face (2007), The House Bunny (2008), The Dictator (2012) and I Give It a Year (2013). She played the lead role of Christy Plunkett in the American TV series Mom. Her 2017 movie venture includes The Emoji Movie, an American 3D computer-animated comedy film, under the direction of Tony Leondis, in which Faris voices for the character of Jailbreak, a codebreaker emoji.
