Anahita Uberoi is an actor, director and producer who has worked extensively in New York, Mumbai and Germany.
She recently acted in ''36 Ghante'' by Rage productions and ''Agnes of God''. She also directed an Indo Scottish project, ''Class Act'' that taught the art of scriptwriting to teenagers. They were directed and enacted by professional actors and directors. She was also seen in the successful British TV series Indian Summers and Dharma Productions Kapoor and Sons (directed by Shakun Batra) and was the festival director for the Sanctuary Wildlife photography festival which celebrated wildlife photography through photography workshops, music, an award show, a wildlife photo exhibition and more. She is presently developing the next Sanctuary festival which will bring together conservation and the arts.
Anahita has worked as an assistant director in New York on fifteen productions, both On Broadway as well as Off-Broadway where she got the opportunity to work with Oscar award and Tony award-winning directors, actor and playwrights.
In Mumbai, her performances have been critically acclaimed over the last 20 odd years. She is directing a new play called Ga Re Maa which should open in June. At present, she can be seen acting in Agnes Of God for which she was nominated for the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Award and the long-running Class of 84. Her repertoire has seen her work as an actor or director in over 30 productions She has worked with directors like Rahul da Cunha, Rahul Bose, Alyque Padamsee, Pearl Padamsee, Kaizaad Kotwal and Padmashri Vijaya Mehta. She has also directed theatrical evenings for spreading awareness for causes. These included names like Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher and many prominent actors, directors and choreographers from the world of theatre, tv, cinema and music.
Anahita has been seen in films like Everybody Says Im Fine, directed by Rahul Bose, Lets Talk, directed by Ram Madhvani, White Noise, directed by Vinta Nanda, Jism, Paap and Holiday, all directed by Pooja Bhatt. Her short film, Afterglow, which she acted in has won the national award as well as several international awards.
Over a period of fifteen years, she has conducted theatre workshops for children of all ages as well as Adults in Mumbai, and other cities across the country.
