Anthony Minghella (born on 6 January 1954) was a British film director and screenwriter. He has started his career as a writer with the stage play since then he has started writing for the films. His notable films include the English Patient,The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain and Nine. He has also written, directed and produced the film Breaking and Entering in the year 2006. He won 1 Oscars, another 34 wins and 44 nominations in total. He died at early age of 54, on March 18, 2008 in London.
