Antonio Alves Pinto is a Brazilian film composer and the son of famous cartoonist Ziraldo. Film-maker Daniela Thomas is his sister. He made his debut as a composer with the 1994 movie, Menino Maluquinho: O Filme. Over the years Pinto has scored the music for many popular movies like Central Station (1998), Midnight (1998), Behind the Sun (2001), City of God (2002), Cronicas (2004), Lord of War (2005), 10 Items or Less (2006), City of Men (2007), Get the Gringo (2012), Trash (2014), McFarland (2015), Amy (2015), Little Secret (2016) and Shot Caller (2017). Pinto was nominated in the Best Original Song category at the 65th Golden Globe Awards for writing the song "Despedida" with Shakira. His 2019 release includes Diego Maradona, directed by Asif Kapadia.
