Anu Prabhakar is an Indian actress who primarily works in Kannada cinema. Having started her career at a very early age, Anu Prabhakar made her debut on the silver screen with Chapala Chennigaraya (1990), while she was in college. She subsequently appeared in two more films namely, Shanti Kranti (1991), and the English film, Mysteries of the Dark Jungle, before eventually dropping out of college to pursue a career in acting.
The actress made her debut in a lead role Hrudaya Hrudaya (1999), before gaining wide recognition and fame with Shaapa (2001), which won her maiden Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress. Her other notable film credits include Arputham (2002), Ardhangi (2003), No 73, Shanti Nivasa (2007), Ko Ko (2011), Fair and Lovely (2014) and Once More Kaurava (2017), a Kannada action drama directed by S. Mahendar. Apart from films, Anu has also worked in several TV series`, some of his popular TV credits include Triveni Sangama, Manju Musukida Haadi, Home Minister and Bale Bangara. Her 2018 releases include Tunturu and Anukta.
