Emmy-nominated Arash Amel is a feature film and television screenwriter and producer. His script Grace of Monaco made the 2011 Black List and garnered Amel his first Emmy nomination after Nicole Kidman starred in the 2014 film. His adaptation of the novel Seducing Ingrid Bergman also found its way on to the Black List in 2014. Jessica Chastain will star in the upcoming production, which will be directed by James.
Kent and produced by Amel. He also produced the successful Netflix sci-fi thriller, The Titan starring Sam Worthington, which was released earlier this year. Amel most recently adapted the Boom! Studios graphic novel Old City Blues as a big budget sci-fi television noir drama. The project is currently in development with Hulu and Brad Weston`s Makeready, and stars Kerry Washington with Gore Verbinski directing. He will next adapt the New York Times best-selling mystery-thriller In a Dark Wood for producers Bruna Papandrea and Reese Witherspoon at New Line Cinema. Amel also wrote the upcoming Jackie Chan and John Cena action thriller, Project X-traction, which recently wrapped production and will be released in 2019.
Amel was born in Wales and spent his early childhood in Iran until the Iranian Revolution prompted his family`s return to the UK. He was raised in England and now resides with his wife and children in Los Angeles.
