Arthur (Hiller) Penn was an American director, film, television and theater producer. He was born on September 27, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He started his career by directing television dramas and made his feature debut movie The Left Handed Gun in 1958. He directed critically acclaimed films in 1960’s such as Bonnie and Clyde(1967), Little Big Man(1970), The Miracle Worker(1962) and The Chase. He was married to Peggy Maurer. He died on September 28, 2010 in Manhattan, New York.
