Best known for his novels Simhasan and Mumbai Dinank, Arun Sadhu was an Indian writer and freelance journalist. He started his career by working in various departments of few national English newspapers, before going on to work as a professor and head the Department of Communication and Journalist at the Pune University for about six years. Carving his niche in the field of political journalism, he started his career as a journalist with the Marathi daily Kesari, following which he worked for reputed publications such as the Statesman, Times of India, The Indian Express, and Free Press Journal in his three-decade-long career.

Meanwhile, he has also written a number of novels, a collection of short stories, and few books on contemporary history such as Kakasaheb Gadgil, Dragon Jaga Jhalyawar, Padgam, Shodhyatra, Bahishkrut, Glanirbhavati Bharat, and Tisari Kranti. Some of his work has been adapted into movies, one being the 2018 Marathi movie Ziprya, which released a year after the writer, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 76.
