Asha Parekh is a famous Bollywood actress who has acted in over 90 films. Some of her successful films include Dil Deke Dekho (1959), Teesri Manzil (1966) and Kati Patang (1970). She reigned over Bollywood in the period 1959-1973. For her contribution to the industry, she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1992. She donned the hat of a director with the Gujarati television serial Jyoti. She also formed a production company, Akruti, where she produced serials like Palash ke Phool, Baaje Payal, Kora Kagaz and Dal Mein Kaala.
