About
An alumnus of the University of Texas, Ashmit Patel is a Bollywood film actor, who made his debut in 2003 with Vikram Bhatt's Inteha. Before making his acting debut, Ashmit assisted Vikram Bhatt on Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002), Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Raaz (2002) and Footpath (2003). While his debut, Inteha, did not create such a buzz, his second outing as an actor featured him alongside Mallika Sherawat and Emraan Hashmi in the 2004 erotic thriller Murder, which went on to become a commercial success.
He then went on to appear in a string of unsuccessful movies such as Fight Club - Members Only, Banaras, Dil Diya Hai, Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana, and Toss before he was seen playing a supporting role in the Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho in 2014.
In 2010, the actor was seen in Colors TV's reality show Bigg Boss in its fourth season, where he was the second runner-up. He then went on to host and judge the reality show Superdude, and then went on to participate in Sony TV's reality show Power Couple with his girlfriend Maheck Chahal. In 2018, Ashmit was seen in the suspense thriller Nirdosh, which features Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Phadnis, Maheck Chahal, and Mukul Dev in pivotal roles.
