An actor born down South and brought up in Mumbai, Ashok is a linguist who is fluent in Hindi, English, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu. He is working on his Kannada and Malayalam. He is a trained actor, theatre artist, Bharatnatyam Ddancer, Western contemporary Jazz and Freestyle Bollywood choreographer. He is also trained in Martial Arts, Film Stunts, and Gymnastics. He is the founder and director of `Freak-A-Thon`.

In his professional debut, he won the Best Child Actor Award for the Pan India teleserial `Sri Krishna` in 1994-95. He is a recipient of The coveted Nrithyamayur Title from the Govt. of Maharashtra (Classical Dance). He has won several Best Actor Awards @ IPTA, Manch, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan`s - One Act Play Theatre Fests. He received a Scholarship from the Kishore Namit Kapoor`s Acting Institute & Rai University. He bagged the Best Actor Awards for VIOL & Manidham (Hindi version - Insaaniyath).

He received the prestigious PIFFA Award (Malaysia) as the Most Promising Actor in the International Arena (Asia-Pacific Zone). AKB is a humble recipient of Two Honorary Doctorates from MSICC & SWAU for his contribution to the field of Arts & Holistic Wellness.

Ashok has worked in movies like Murugaa, Pidichirukku, Kozhi Koovuthu, Gangs of Madras, Chithiram Pesudhadi 2, Bestie, 4554, Mayathirai, Priyamudan Priya, Unakaaghathaney (maiden Malaysian Film shot abroad completely), Premistava, Ela Cheppanu, Kaaki, Priyamaina Priya, Are You Ok Baby? and E-Mail (2024).

He also featured in the web series Kuruthi Kalam.
