Having made her debut by playing a supporting role in the 2015 Kannada romantic thriller Endendigu, Ashwini Chandrashekar bagged a pivotal role in the Kishore and Yagna Shetty-starrer Octopus, a drama-thriller that released the same year.

Known for her work in the Kananda industry, Ashwini has movies such as Prema Pallakki and Ondu Romantic Crime Kathe to her credit. Making her Telugu film debut, she played the role of Amrutha in Aavu Puli Madhyalo Prabhas Pelli. The following year, in 2017, she went on to make her Tamil film debut with Kandaen Kadhal. Since making her Tamil debut, she was seen in two Tamil movies, 12-12-1950 and Merlin.
