An ex-journalist with Indian express, Ashwini Shende is popular lyricist and writer known for her work in Hindi and Marathi films and television. After graduating from the Sathe College, Mumbai, Ashwini worked as a journalist with Indian Express. She has penned the lyrics for the title songs of several popular Marathi TV shows such as Kalat Nakalat, Kulvadhu, and Majhiya Priyala Preet Kalena, and the Hindi TV show Khamoshiyan.

Few of Ashwini`s movie credits as a lyricist include Time Pass, Tujhi Majhi Love Story, Mitwa, Laal Ishq, One Way Ticket, Tula Kalnnaar Nahi, and Deva. She has also written the screenplay and dialogues for the movie Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2. Her 2018 release includes What`s Up Lagna.
