Bengali director and screenwriter Atanu Ghosh started his career in 1996 soon after completing his post-graduation in journalism with a documentary. He then went on to work a number of telefilms while still being associated with documentaries. Among his notable telefilms are Aar Ek Bampi, Akashchhoan, Sumitra Online, Asamapto, and Megh Brishti Rodh among many others.

Making his foray into the film industry, Atanu wrote the screenplay and story of the 2009 drama Angshumaner Chhobi, which he also directed. His other ventures include Takhan Teish, Rupkatha Noy, Ek Phali Rodh, Abby Sen, 72 Ghanta, and Mayurakshi and Robibaar.
