An Indian music composer, Atif Afzal is noted for his works both in Indian cinema and in International projects. Having completed his engineering from the K.J. Somiya College, Mumbai, Atif started worked as an IT consultant at KPMG for three years, before eventually the quit the job to pursue a career in music. He started his career in the music industry as the lead guitarist with the heavy metal band, Nemesis. However, after a brief stint, the band dissolved, and Atif started training in Hindustani classical music under the tutelage of Pandit Man Sing Zaver and Carnatic music from Pandit Padmanaban.
The Inquilab Awards nominee, Atif, made his debut as a composer with Pune 52, a Marathi neo-noir thriller Marathi language film in 2013. His other notable film credits as a composer include Prague (2013), Baji (2015), Monsoon Shootout and Charandas Chor (2017), a Marathi comedy-drama directed by Shyam Maheshwari.
