Atul Todankar is one of the best comedy actors in Marathi entertainment industry. He is not only best and natural in comedy but also all the shades of characters. He has made his impact on the audience through his brilliant performances with Anshuman Vichare in Zee Marathi's former show Fu Bai Fu. Though he is working since 1996, this was his actual commercial debut project which gave him a super break and got really popular. As soon as the show started on air he got another big break for serial Puneri Misal.
Currently, he is doing Zee Marathi's serial Naktichya Lagnala Yaycha Ha and serial Ga Sahajani. Sachin Pilgaonkar's show Eka Peksha Ek gave him a confidence that he can dance also, that too really well. His other serials with various characters include Gangubai Nonmatric, Pinjra, Ajunhi Chand Ratra Aahe, Gangadhar Pant. He has also done Dish TV ad film with Shahrukh Khan. His short film The Psychiatrist shows his talent in a different shade of character. He is a hardcore theatre artist. He has done plays like Toor Toor, Gangubai Matric, Aappajinchi Secretary, Karayla Gelo Ek. He was doing a lead role in Machchindra Kambli's play Lagna Karta Vighna Harta where he found the love of his life Madhuri and soon got married to her. He has done films like Zenda, Dhudgus, Laden Aala Re and Saha Gun with Amruta Subhash.
Atul Todankar is basically from Rajapur but born and brought up in Mumbai. He is married to Madhuri Todankar. She is an actress and a voice artist. This couple is blessed with a cute son Shourya. Atul has completed his schooling from Shardashram Vidyalaya and later completed his Engineering degree from VJTI College. He has also worked in BST on a reputed designation.
Atul was never intended to do anything in the acting field but once he met Pandharinath Kambli, Sanjay Khapre, Vijay Kadam and few more actors and saw them rehearsing for their play which attracted him and soon Atul started to work. These people taught him all the necessary things and even Atul is a very good learner and always keen to learn new things which makes him much more improved artist with each project. Even if Atul becomes an actor accidentally but still we have to agree that few accidents are really for the best.
