While pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication at the age of 19, he went on to pursue his career in Radio as well as music. Standing true to his reputation as the full-on Punjabi Munda, Avi J launched Delhis first Punjabi radio show Sher E Punjab Express on Fever 104 FM in 2011. The show was such a rage that it gained popularity even with the Non-Punjabi audience. He has also launched Delhis only Punjabi Radio station 107.2 Punjabi Fever in 2021.

As a singer Avi J has worked with some of the biggest names in the punjabi music industry such as SukhE, Ikka, Jyotica Tangri, Deep Jandu, Jazzy B, Neha Kakkar and Badshah to name a few. Avi Js song Kati Jeher has crossed 115 million views on YouTube.
