B.S.Ranga was an Indian photographer, Director and a producer. He had his own production company Vikram Productions and he was the first person to produce a coloured film in Kannada. Some of the films directed by him are Dassi Aparanji, Baktha Markandeya, Raja Malaiya Simman and Huliyada Kala. In 1956 he was awarded with President's Silver Medal for Best Feature Film in Telugu. He died at the age of 93, on November 11, 1917.
