B. V. Karanth (Karanth) (deceased) a.k.a. Babukodi Venkataramana Karanth was an Indian music director, actor and a director, born on September 19, 1929 in Babukodi, Karnataka, India. Karanth was married to Prema Karanth. Karanth had given his contribution in many popular films including Avasthe (1987), Arivu (1979) and many more. Karanth was honored with National Award for Rishyasrinkar (1941) and has also won many states awards.
