Babu Namboothiri is an Indian film and TV actor, who is known for his work in the Malayalam film industry. He made his acting debut with the 1982 movie, Yagam. Over a career spanning more than 35 years, Babu has starred in more than 100 movies and been a part of various TV soaps. His prominent acting credits include movies like Nirakkoottu (1985), Vartha (1986), Adiverukal (1986), Thaniyavartanam (1987), Thoovanathumbikal (1987), Swathi Thirunal (1987), Amritamgamaya (1987), Mukthi (1988), Moonnam Mura (1988), Adikkurippu (1989), Jagratha (1989), Naaduvazhikal (1989), Mathilukal (1990), Ee Thanutha Veluppan Kalathu (1990), Dhruvam (1993), Vidheyan (1994), Kathapurushan (1996), Ee Parakkum Thalika (2001), Perumazhakkalam (2004), Vinodayathra (2007), Kerala Cafe (2009), Ividam Swargamanu (2009) and Athmakadha (2010). Babu began his career playing the antagonist, but later he switched to character roles. In 2017 he acted alongside Lena, Biju Prabhakar, Dinesh Panicker and Kalasala Babu in director Sajin Lal's Thank You Very Much. He is associated with the 2018 Malayalam drama Premanajali directed by Suresh Narayanan and Madhaveeyam.
