Barkha Bisht Sengupta is an Indian actress and model, renowned for her work in Hindi television and Bengali cinema. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Anjani in the mythological series Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman.

Early Life and Education
Born on December 28, 1979, in Hisar, Haryana, Barkha spent much of her early life in various military towns, especially Kolkata, owing to her father`s career in the Indian Army. She completed her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya Fort William in Kolkata and pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Symbiosis College in Pune. During her college years, Barkha began modeling, which eventually led her to the entertainment industry.

Personal Life
Barkha married actor Indraneil Sengupta on March 2, 2008, after meeting him on the sets of Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam. The couple has a daughter named Meera, born in October 2011. After thirteen years of marriage, Barkha and Indraneil parted ways and finalized their divorce in 2022. In recent years, she has been linked with actor and producer Ashish Sharma.

Career
Debut and Breakthrough Barkha began her acting career in 2004 with the television show Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, where she played the role of Udita. Her first notable film appearance was in the 2010 political drama Raajneeti, in which she had a dance cameo. In the same year, she debuted in Bengali cinema with Dui Prithibi, portraying the role of Mandakini in the romantic action-drama.

Notable Films and Roles
Barkha`s prominent roles in Bollywood include her appearance as Kesar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and as Revati Singh in the thriller Samrat & Co.. She also played roles in Bengali films like Ami Subhash Bolchi and Villain.

Her television career features significant performances in shows such as Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, Doli Saja Ke, and Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi. However, her role as Anjani, mother of Lord Hanuman, in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman remains one of her most appreciated performances.

Barkha has also explored digital platforms, acting in web series like Ratri Ke Yatri, where she played Nishaat, and the crime-thriller Duranga, in which she played Prachi Banne.
