An English actor of Chinese descent, Benedict Wong is best known internationally for his portrayal of Wong, the trusted sidekick of Marvel superhero Doctor Strange in the eponymous 2016 film. The actor started out his showbiz in the early 1990s, appearing primarily on television in the initial stages of his career. His performance in the 2002 British social thriller Dirty Pretty Things earned Wong a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

The action comedy Johnny English Reborn (2011), the black comedy superhero film Kick-Ass 2 (2013) and the sci-fi movie The Martian (2015) are some of his other significant film credits. Besides these Wong has also appeared in tv shows like Marco Polo (2014-`16) and Black Mirror (2011-). More recently, he was seen in the sci-fi horror film Annihilation (2018), the MCU superhero film Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and its sequel Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Gemini Man (2019).
