About
Bharath Sankar is an Indian music composer known for bringing a distinctive blend of contemporary, folk, and experimental sounds to Indian cinema. His breakthrough came with Madonne Ashwin's critically acclaimed Mandela (2021), a National Award-winning film for which Bharath created an eclectic score that became an integral part of the film's identity. The soundtrack featured popular songs including "Yela Yelo", "Ela Mandela", and "Oru Needhi", with Bharath collaborating with musicians from South Africa and Madagascar.

He composed the music and background score for the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran (2023). The blockbuster hit marked a significant step into large-scale commercial cinema, with Bharath's songs "Vannarapettayila", "Scene Ah Scene Ah", and "Vaa Veera" becoming popular hits, while his background score was widely noted as a key element of the film.

Bharath Sankar has composed music for notable films including Dharala Prabhu (2020), Ammu (2022), and Aadai (2019), as well as web series such as The Family Man (Season 2) and Mad Company.

His recent work includes Anbe Diana (2026), a Tamil romantic family drama directed by Pari Elavazhagan. His upcoming projects include Modha Rathiri, directed by Raja Karuppasamy, and Yellow Yellow Dirty Fellow, directed by Vikkie Bhaskar.
