Bharathwaj is a Indian film composer, who works in the Southern film industry. He composed music for programmes that aired on All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan at the age of 17. He began his career composing the music for director Saran's Kaadhal Mannan in 1998. Bharathwaj is known for his lasting collaboration with Saran on all of his movies. His notable compositions for Saran include Amarkalam (1999), Parthen Rasithen (2000), Jay Jay (2003), Vasoolraja M.B.B.S (2004) and Attagasam (2004). Bharathwaj also composed music for two movies directed by Cheran- Pandavar Bhoomi (2001) and Autograph (2004). His other notable works include Thiruttu Payale (2006), Muni (2007), Onbadhu Roobai Nottu (2007), Athithi (2014) and Aranmanai (2014). In 2017 Bharathwaj once again served as the music director on Saran's Aayirathil Iruvar. In 2008 Bharathwaj received the Kalaimamani Award from Tamil Nadu Government for his excellence in the field of art.
