Hailing from the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, Bhaurao Nanasaheb Karhade, better known as Bhaurao Karhade, is an Indian film director who works in the Marathi film industry. He is also a farmer, who sold five acres of his farming land to produce his debut movie Khwada (2015). Bhaurao also wrote and directed the movie. Khwada won the Special Jury Award and the Best Audiography Award at the 62nd National Film Awards. It also went on to win five state awards- Best Debut Film Production, Best Rural Film, Best Costume Design, Best Rural Director and Best Make-Up. Bhaurao won the Best Director award at the Pune International Film Festival, Prabhat Puraskar 2015 and the Marathi Filmfare awards.
In 2018 Bhaurao returned to the director`s seat with the action-drama, Baban. The story which is written by Bhaurao has Abhay Chavan, Shital Chavan, Yogesh Dimbale, Gayatri Jadhav, Pranjali Kanzarkar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Devendra Gaikwad, Chandrakant Raut, and Bhausaheb Shinde in important roles.
