Bill Bannerman started out in Hollywood as an assistant director in the mid-1980s, and segued into production in the subsequent years. As a producer, he has bankrolled blockbusters like The The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013).

Besides these, Bannerman has also served as an assistant director in the acclaimed revisionist western film Unforgiven (1992), and as an aerial unit director in the Twilight and Percy Jackson series of films. In 2018, he served as an executive producer in the sci-fi action film The Predator, which was directed by Shane Black.
