Bengali film director Birsa Dasgupta started his career by assisting in Hindi serials and movies. He worked as a unit director on Anurag Kashyap`s crime film Black Friday. However, he realized that he would rather work in the Bengali film industry and moved back to Kolkata. Upon returning to Kolkata, Dasgupta made his directorial debut in 2010 with the movie 033, following which he directed Obhishopto Nighty (2014), Golpo Holeo Shotti (2014), Shudhu Tomari Jonyo (2015), and One (2017). Birsa Dasgupta later directed movies like Crisscross (2018) and Bibaho Obhijaan (2019).
