About
Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo (born 11 March 1976), better known by his stage name Black Coffee, is a South African DJ, record producer and songwriter. Coffee established his own record label Soulistic Music, released debut self-titled album Black Coffee (2005), which incorporated elements of R and B and jazz.
In 2010, Black Coffee attained the Guinness World Record for longest-ever DJ set when he played for 60 hours nonstop. His international success was confirmed when he won Breakthrough DJ of the Year at the 2015 DJ Awards in Ibiza and Best African Act at the 2016 BET Awards in Los Angeles.
In the half-decade since then, Black Coffee is arguably Africa's most celebrated DJ and a certified international sensation, popular for his tranquil, synth-laden take on house music.
