Robert Kane, popularly known as Bob Kane, was a comic book writer, animator and artist who is best known for his contribution to the creation of DC comics characters like Batman. Now a worldwide cultural phenomenon, Kane co-created the dark knight Batman along with Bill Finger in 1939, in response to the audience`s enthusiastic response to Superman. Kane is also credited with the creation of Batman`s most intriguing enemies including the Joker and the Penguin. Kane passed away in 1998, but his characters are more popular than ever, appearing in movies like The Dark Knight (2008), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).
