A noted Indian cinematographer, Bobby Singh is best-known for his work in Bollywood films, including Gangster (2006), Life in a Metro (2007), The Dirty Picture (2011) and Queen (2014). Singh started off as an assistant cameraman in Raj N. Sippy`s Shehzaade (1989) and Sarfarosh (1999). He has also done additional photography for A.R. Murugadoss`s Ghajini (2008).

Meanwhile, Singh made his debut as an independent cinematographer in the Anurag Basu`s crime thriller Gangster in 2006, followed by Basu`s next film Life in a Metro in 2007. In 2012, Singh worked on Milan Luthria`s National award-winning film The Dirty Picture, following which he died of an asthma attack on December 25, 2012, at the age of 38. At the time, the cinematographer had finished shooting for Special Chabbis (2013) and Queen (2014), which were released posthumously.
