The honourable minister (Information Technology & Electronics) of West Bengal, Sri Bratya Basu, is a youth theatre icon. He is a dramatist, director, actor, academician, and a politician. He has written 48 plays and has directed 22 plays till date. He has also acted in 26 films and has directed 3 films till date. The actor`s most popular movies include Herbert (2006), Icche (2011), Mahapurush O Kapurush (2013) and Gangster (2016). He is also the founder of the theatre group Bratyajon. He is associated with the 2017 Bengali movie Baranda directed by Reshmi Mitra starring Rituparna Sengupta, Saheb Bhattacharya, Manali Dey and Sreela Majumdar. His other movies includes Bohomaan (2019) and Swapnajaal (2020).
