Born in Basti District of Uttar Pradesh, he started training in classical vocal music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in 2000, and then shifted to Mumbai in 2006. Along with being a singer, he also knows to play tabla, guitar, and harmonium. He has lent his voice for the songs titled `Hooriyaan` from the movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), `Fauji` from War Chhod Na Yaar (2013) and `Mera Nachan Nu` from Airlift. He then went on to record the popular song titled `Bano` from the 2015 movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns. His 2017 venture includes the song titled `Trippy Trippy` from the Sanjay Dutt starrer Bhoomi, in collaboration with music director duo Sachin-Jigar, along with co-singers like Neha Kakkar, Benny Dayal, and Badshah. His 2019 release includes Pranaam.
