About
Veteran Australian actor Bryan Brown's career spans over four decades, in the course of which he has appeared in close to a hundred movies and tv projects, besides producing over a dozen. He started out in cinema with a minor role in the erotic mystery film Scobie Malone (1975), and subsequently rose to prominence when he essayed the role of Lt. Peter Handcock in the Oscar-nominated Australian war film Breaker Morant (1980). American audience is perhaps best familiar with Brown for his portrayal of the character Luke O'Neil in the miniseries The Thorn Birds (1983), for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor that year.

The Tom Cruise starrer Cocktail (1988), the crime comedy Two Hands (1999), the romantic comedy Along Came Polly (2004), the romantic historical adventure drama Australia (2008) and the drama Beautiful Kate (2009) are some of Brown's significant feature film credits. Other notable acting credits in recent times include the romantic period drama The Light Between Oceans (2016), Sweet Country (2017) and the animated comedy film Peter Rabbit (2018), the last of which features him in a voice role. Brown is married to actress Rachel Ward, whom he met on the sets of The Thorn Birds (1983).
