Charles Aaron "Bubba" Smith was an American professional football player, who starred as a defensive end in both college and the NFL before becoming an actor following his retirement from the sport. During his acting career, Smith specialized in comedic roles in film, television, and television advertising. His best-known role was as Moses Hightower in the first six Police Academy movies. Smith also appeared in series including Good Times, The Odd Couple, Taxi, Hart to Hart, MacGyver, Married... with Children and Family Matters. He passed away on 3 August 2011.
