An Academy Award nominee, Burt Reynolds is an American actor, director, producer and a former American football player. Having started his career on the silver screen with Angel Baby in 1961, he got his big breakthrough in 1972 when director John Boorman cast him in the American thriller film, Deliverance. The film was a massive hit and Reynolds for his stellar performance as Lewis Medlock won wide appreciation from both critics and the audience.
After the success of Deliverance, Reynolds got many offers and over the years, he has been part of several box office hits like The Longest Yard (1974), Smokey and the Bandit (1977), The Cannonball Run (1981) and Boogie Nights (1997). With the dawn of the new millennium, the veteran actor started to appear mostly in cameo roles and in the Direct-to-DVD film. His 2018 release includes The Last Movie Star, an English drama directed by Adam Rifkin.
Apart from starring in more than 50 films, Reynolds also has an elaborate career in the American TV industry. As a matter of fact, the veteran started his acting career as a TV artist and his maiden appearance on screen was with Flight (1958) where he played the role of Captain Sam Allen. Although he appeared in smaller roles initially, he got his big break with Riverboat where he played one of the important characters. In his illustrious career, Reynolds has appeared in more than 50 TV series' and has won many awards along the way.
